In the first set, Ryan Moore had back-to-back service aces to give the Lions a 24-22 lead, and it eventually won after getting a sideout on the Vikings' next serve. In the second set, the score was tied at 20-20 when the Lions scored two straight on a Karsten Staples' kill and a hitting error. The Lions then scored three straight sideouts, including a kill by Connor Hipelius on set point. In the final set, a determined Viking team shook off four match points before the Lions were finally able to finish the match on a Michael Chard service ace.
