The Lindenwood men's volleyball team lost its MIVA opener on Saturday night at Hyland Arena with a 3-0 loss to No. 7 Ohio State. The Buckeyes defeated the Lions by scores of 25-18, 25-21, and 25-18.
Ohio State had just one more kill than Lindenwood in the match, but the Lions committed 10 more hitting errors, five more serving errors, and two more receiving errors. The Buckeyes hit .492 on the night, compared to a .277 percentage for the Lions.
Lindenwood's duo of
Jake Duckworth and
Ryan Moore combined for 21 of the team's 34 kills. Moore had 10 kills and also led the team with four service aces. Duckworth had a team-high 11 kills.
Adam Brewster recorded 31 assists,
Ryan Vorderer had seven digs, and
Michael Chard led the team with three blocks.
Lindenwood falls to 2-5 overall. The Lions next host the defending NCAA National Champions, Loyola Chicago, next Friday at 7 p.m. at Hyland Arena.
