Lindenwood men's and women's swimming and diving teams defeated Washington University - St. Louis in their respective dual meet Friday Night in Maryland Heights, Mo.
Schyler Hohenberger won both the 1m and 3m dive on the men's side, posting scores of 286.30 and 292.55, respectively. David Cochran placed second in both events, while teammate Valentin Merlet finished fourth.
Serghei Golban won a pair of events on the evening, placing first in the 50 free and 100 free. In the 50, he edged out a Wash-U swimmer by .54 seconds. In the 100, Golban posted a time of 45.92. Michaek Szczukowski and Joseph Martin finished third and fourth, respectively.
Also having success on the men's side was Krzysztof Jankiewicz, winning the 100 breast with a time of 52.52. In the 100 fly, Jankiewicz finished just ahead of teammate Kian Quigley to win first with a time of 49.35. Felix Eigel added wins to the men's side with first-place finishes in the 500 free with a time of 4:26.11 and 200 IM with a time of 1:48.04. Quigley and Martin placed third and fourth, respectively, in the 200 IM, while Sylwester Borowicz Skoneczny placed second in the 500 free a minute behind Eigel.
The men totaled 147 points compared to Wash-U's 94 to win the dual.
Just as Hohenberger did on the men's side, Carleen Wayne did on the women's, winning both the 1m and 3m dive. Wayne posted scores of 302.35 and 268.25, respectively, finishing ahead of teammates Ashley Holloway and Shelby Werkema in the 1m, and Holloway and Allie Steinhauser in the 3m.
The preseason RMAC women's swimmer of the year, Ewa Dymarek, won the 100 breast with a time of 103.58, and finished fifth in the 200 IM. Teammates Shelby Quinn and Bailey Blessing finished third and fifth, respectively, in the 100 breast, while Audra Thornton and Erin Sutton placed third and fourth, respectively, in the 200 IM.
Hannah Vinyard and Kyleigh Troxel took first and second place, respectively, in the 500 free, finished just over a second away from each other. Troxel improved to finish first in the 1000 free with a time of 10:40.69. Vinyard added a third-place finish in the 100 fly with a time of 1:01.19.
Kinga Lesinska won the 100 free with a time of 54.14, and won the 50 free finishing at 24.87.
The women edged out Wash-U 136-107 in the dual to win.
Both the men and women return to the pool February 10th for the RMAC met in Grand Junction, Colo.
