The Lindenwood swimming and diving teams hosted Delta State, Indianapolis, Missouri S&T, and Truman State on Saturday afternoon from the Rec-Plex in St. Peters, Mo.
Serghei Golban continued his success in the 50 free and 100 free events, winning both. Golban recorded times of 20.63 and 45.92, respectively. The junior was not the only one to perform well in the 50 free, as
Michal Szczukowski (21.01) and
Alex Leff (21.34) placed second and third, respectively, in the event. Szczukowski finished fifth in the 100 free.
Gustavo Silva Santa and Chris Holmes also swam well in the freestyle event, with each placing in the top four in the 1000m. Sylwester Skoneczny-Borowicz also finished eighth in the event.
Cristian Vasquez (3:59.97) and
Felix Eigel (4:02.55) placed first and second, respectively, in the 400 IM.
Kian Quigley finished fifth in the event, and placed second in the 100 fly with a time of 51.45. Eigel (51.57) also finished second in the 100 back, while
Blake Logan (52.33) placed fourth in the event.
For the women,
Kamila Kunka (1:54.45) had a successful finishing second in the 200 free, while
Hannah Vinyard (1:55.90) placed fourth. Kunka also placed fifth in the 100 free with a time of 54.71.
Alecia McGillivray and
Erin Sutton finished in the top two sports in the 400 IM, touching the wall in 4:33.45 and 4:38. 89, respectively. Sutton (1:01.71) placed eighth in the 100 back. McGillivray also placed third in the 500 free with a time of 5:10.86.
Also in the 100 back,
Ola Tomala finishing second just behind the first-place swimmer with a time of 59.07.
Ewa Dymarek found herself winning in the 100 breast with a time of 1:05.05, while
Kate Stauffer (1:08.87) placed fifth.
Ashley Holloway,
Shelby Werkema, and
Allie Steinhauser finished in the top three spots in the 3m dive event. In the 1m, Holloway placed second, Steinhauser finished third, and Werkema scored for fifth.
Overall, both the men's and women's squads went 3-1 in four quads, with Missouri S&T only having a men's team at the event.
The teams will travel next to Springfield, Mo. for the Drury Invitational on November 4-5.
