Box Score 2 The Lindenwood softball continued its stay in Gulf Shores, Ala. as it fell to Simon Fraser in the morning game and to Spring Hill in afternoon game on Saturday.
Simon Fraser 10 – Lindenwood 3Â
In the first game for the Lady Lions, they came out in the first inning struggling to keep Simon Fraser off the bases. The Lady Lions gave up four hits, a hit-by-pitch, and a walk that led to four runs before they forced a lineout to end the inning. They started off solidly in the bottom of the inning with a walk from
Madeline Bohr and a single from
Maria Tippit to have runners on first and second. They managed to advance Bohr to third on a wild pitch, but the Lady Lions could not convert.

Simon Fraser returned into its scoring frenzy in the second inning, scoring three runs to extend the lead by a 7-0 margin. It registered a solo shot, an RBI-single, and a run off a wild pitch before the end of the inning. Lindenwood was retired 1-2-3 in the bottom of the inning.

Neither team scored in the third after the Lady Lions caught a runner stealing for third and struck out a batter to end the inning, while Simon Fraser limited the Lady Lions to just one single.

After the Lady Lions held Simon Fraser scoreless for the second straight inning, they landed on the scoreboard for the first time on the day, scoring three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Faith Koffron walked in the first at-bat then
Alexis Theis singled to left field to give the Lady Lions an opportunity to score.
Morgan Brown singled to left to drive in Koffron for the first run. Theis followed suit off a wild pitch that advanced Brown to third.
Brooke Tiehes drove a ball to left field for a double that allowed Brown to score easily for the third run. Simon Fraser stopped the Lady Lions by striking out Bohr, making the score 7-3 led by the Clan.

Both teams held each other scoreless for the next two innings until the Clan added onto its lead in the top of the seventh. They scored three more runs to seal the deal with a final score of 10-3.

Spring Hill 18 – Lindenwood 2Â
The Lady Lions started their afternoon game against Spring Hill with Tippit walking and reaching second base off a groundball to first. They could not convert the run, and were left scoreless.

The Badgers responded in the bottom of the inning with an RBI-single to second base to put them on the board. The Lady Lions lured them into a double-play after to retire the side. In the bottom of the inning,
Caitlyn Touchette doubled to set up another runner in scoring position, but the Lady Lions could not drive her in, leaving them scoreless.

Rebecca Stocker led off in the third inning with a double to left field to put another Lady Lion in scoring position, but they leave her stranded this time. Tippit walked in the next at-bat to set up Theis for runners at first and second with two outs.
Mallory Eitel entered the game as the pinch-runner for Stocker, and Theis singled her in to tie the game up. The Lady Lions nearly took the lead off a single to center field from
Alexandra Newcomb and Tippit being waved home, but she was thrown out to end the inning.

No one scored in the fourth inning, but the floodgates would open for the Badgers on offense. They collected seven runs off one player driving in two runners, two players getting RBI-singles, and two errors. The Badgers would enter the bottom of the fifth inning with an 8-1 lead. The Lady Lions would earn a run from Bohr after a wild pitch drove her in.

The Badgers continued their offensive streak, producing 10 more runs in the sixth inning. They converted runs through two RBI-singles, two RBI-walks, a two-run single, and a three-run homer to cap off the inning. They led the Lady Lions by a score of 18-2. The Lady Lions could not get anything going in the bottom of the sixth which would end the game.

After the two losses, the Lady Lions fall to 1-3 on the season as they prepare for the final game in Gulf Shores on Sunday at 9 a.m. They will take on Montevallo.
