Series Notes:
- The Lindenwood women's hockey team opens its 2016-17 season with a two-game series versus the Minnesota Golden Gophers. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on September 30, and 2:00 p.m. on October 1 at Ridder Arena in Minneapolis, Minn.
- The two-game non-conference series with the Golden Gophers is the first of six such series this season for the Lady Lions. Lindenwood will also have non-conference clashes with Northeastern (Hockey East), Ohio State (WCHA), Minnesota-Mankato (WCHA), North Dakota (WCHA), and Wisconsin (WCHA).
- The Golden Gophers eneter the season as the defending NCAA National Champions after the team won its seventh national title in March of 2016. Minnesota played to a record of 35-4-1 during the 2015-16 season.
- Lindenwood and Minnesota have never met in NCAA action.

Tae Otte will serve as the team captain for the 2016-17 Lady Lions. Otte begins her third consecutive season donning the "C" for Lindenwood. The alternate captains are senior defender

Shannon Morris-Reade.

Sarah Bobrowski dished out a program-record 19 assists a season ago, en route to a 27-point season, the third-highest single-season point total in team history.

Shannon Morris-Reade was selected to the CHA all-rookie team in 2015-16, following her 23-point season. Morris-Reade turned in five multi-point performances throughout the season.
- As a freshman,
Ally Larson led all Lady Lion defenders with 10 points in 2015-16. Otte and
Carrie Atkinson each tallied nine points on defense for Lindenwood, while Nokelby poured in seven points in 22 games.
- Of all Lady Lions to take at least 100 faceoffs last season,
Corbin Welsh had the most success in the circle. Welsh won a team-high 48.3% of her draws, followed by Morris-Reade who secured 45.9% of her faceoffs.
- Lindenwood's roster features seven true freshman this season. Making up the freshman class are forwards

Erin Near, and goaltender

- Nine of the 22 Lady Lions hail from the United States, while the other 13 are from Canada. The most popular Canadian province respresented on the roster is British Columbia, which claims six Lady Lions. Minnesota, home to three members of the 2016-17 team, is the highest represented state on the roster.
- The Lady Lions will return home to the Lindenwood Ice Arena in Wentzville, Mo. for their first home series of the season against the Northeastern Huskies on Oct. 7-8. Game time is schedule for 7:00 p.m. on both nights.
