Lindenwood Notes
•
Jackson Price hit six three-pointers against Central Oklahoma, tying
LJ McIntosh for the most made by a Lion this season. The six three-pointers by those three players tie for the ninth-most in program history for a single game.
Â
• Lindenwood set a season-high against the Bronchos with 21 points off turnovers, and had its highest total of bench points against NCAA Division II teams with 41. On the season, the Lions are averaging 14.9 points off turnovers, and 24.3 bench points a game. Last season, the Lions averaged 8.7 points off turnovers and 15.0 bench points a contest.
Â
• Lindenwood overcame an eight-point deficit in the win over Central Oklahoma. It was the fourth time this season that it had overcome a deficit of seven or more points. Last season, the Lions overame a seven-point deficit or more in just three contests.
Â
•
Chandler Diekvoss ranks in the top-10 in the MIAA in both rebounding and scoring. Only two other players in the MIAA rank in the top-10 in both categories.
Â
• Among sophomores in the MIAA,
Chandler Diekvoss is the top scorer with 16.1 points a game, just ahead of Emporia State's Brandon Hall who is averaging 15.7 points a contest.
• Among conference freshmen,
Dominique Dobbs is first with 8.7 rebounds a contest, and he is second in scoring with 12.7 points a game. Missouri Southern's Elyjah Clark is the top freshmen scorer with 13.3 points a game.
Â
•
Jackson Price had a season-high 27 points in the win over Central Oklahoma, becoming the fifth Lion to score 20 or more points. Last season, four players had a 20-point game for Lindenwood, and just one accomplished that feat more than once, compared to three in 2016-17.
Â
• The Lions have forced 14 or more turnovers in 10 of their 18 games this year, including in each of their last five contests. The increased playing time of
Bakari Triggs has something to do with that, as he has a team-high nine steals in those five games.
Â
• Lindenwood is looking to snap a four-game losing streak on the road against NCAA Division II opponents. In those four contests, the Lions are averaging just 66.0 points a game, and they are shooting 40.2 percent from the field and 30.5 percent from three-point range.
Â
• In the latest national rankings, the Lions rank in the top-50 in free-throw percentage (35th), scoring defense (37th), and turnovers per game (32nd).
