Women's wrestling lost to Life University 26-13 and defeated the Lynx 27-21 at the Lindenwood – Belleville Tri-Meet October 28 in Belleville, Illinois.

Against the Running Eagles, the Lady Lions were even after the second match, but Life pulled away from there.  Shania Melendez earned a 10-5 decision against Alyssa Martinez in the 109 lb. division to tie the team scores at four at the time, but Leslie Alaniz was the only other Lindenwood wrestler to win her bout, taking a 6-0 decision in the 155 lb. class over Raven Thomas.  That effort made the score 17-12 in favor of the Running Eagles, but the Lady Lions forfeited at 170 lbs., and lost the 191 lb. match to set up the final margin.

Lindenwood – Belleville was competing against Lindenwood short-handed and forfeited the first two matches, giving the Lady Lions a 10-0 advantage.  Ashely Herrera extended that lead when she pinned Shana Villalba in the 116 lb. division and it ballooned to 20-0 with another Lynx forfeit, but Belleville made it close down the stretch with three wins and two Lindenwood forfeits in the final six matches.  Mariya Gaither provided what proved to be the winning points for the Lady Lions with a pin against Maya Shimizu at 143 lbs.

Life University emerged as the winner of the Tri-Meet with a 30-18 win over Lindenwood – Belleville.

Lindenwood now has a record of 2-3 in team duals.  After an idle weekend, the Lady Lions return to the mat for the Waldorf University Open November 11 in Forest City, Iowa.
