The synchronized skating team finished sixth at the United States Figure Skating (USFS) Sectional Championships January 26-29 in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Miami University emerged as the winner, followed by the University of Wisconsin – Madison in second and Adrian College in third.

Head coach Chelsea Wipfler talked about the challenges that faced the team.
"Before this competition, we made several new and strong changes to our program and we were confident going in, but unfortunately, one of our skaters was too ill to travel, which forced us to make several last minute modifications to our routine the morning before we left," she said. "We skated strongly and cleanly, but did not place where we expected. Despite that, we're still very proud of what we were able to accomplish in such a short amount of time."
Synchronized skating returns to the ice for the Ice Skating Institute (ISI) Meet Me in St. Louis exhibition March 4 at the Webster Groves Ice Arena in Webster Groves, Missouri.
