The Lindenwood baseball team will head to Grand Prairie, Texas for the 2017 NCAA Division II National Championships. The Lions will be making their first appearance in just their fourth year of NCAA postseason eligibility. Lindenwood advanced to the finals after winning last week's NCAA Central Regional Championship, capped off by an 8-4 win over Central Oklahoma in the championship game.

The Lions, who also won the 2017 MIAA Postseason Tournament, head to Texas as one of the hottest teams in the country. Lindenwood is 23-4 since April 1. In that span, it is averaging 8.1 runs a contest, while allowing under five runs a game.

Lindenwood will start the 2017 NCAA Division II National Championships on Saturday with a 7 p.m. game against Delta State. The Statesman are 44-11 on the season, and won the Gulf South Conference Tournament and NCAA South Regional.
