GAME OVERVIEW
The Lindenwood football team (3-4) won its third road-game of the season and left Tahlequah, Okla. with a 38-14 victory over Northeastern State (0-7).Â
D'Harius Brown returned the opening kick of the second half 83 yards for a touchdown to give the Lions a comfortable three-touchdown lead.

The Lions struggled offensively on their first two drives, but
Nash Sutherlin scored the first touchdown of the game with a seven-yard score on the ground with 6:44 to go in the opening quarter. On the next offensive possession,
Cade Brister led the Lions on a six-play 68-yard drive that ended with a 43-yard touchdown pass to
Payton Rose. The Lindenwood defense was nails in the opening frame as they held the RiverHawks to just 16 yards of offense and allowed just one first down in the first 15 minutes.

Northeastern State flipped the script in the second quarter from a yardage standpoint, as the RiverHawks produced 76 yards of offense against the 58 yards of offense for the Lions. The defense again stood strong in the second quarter that was highlighted by an interception by
Lloyd Lockett to keep the Lions ahead by two scores heading into the half.

Lindenwood carried the momentum into the second half as Brown took the opening kick of the second half all the way for an 83-yard touchdown, making it a 21-0 game. The RiverHawks ended the third quarter with the ball and opened the fourth quarter with a 10-yard touchdown pass to cut the lead back to 14 points. The Lindenwood rushing attack came alive late in the fourth quarter as
Cameron Sanders scored from 21 yards out with 6:28 left in the game to put the Lions up by three scores. Northeastern State took the ensuing kickoff back 77 yards for a touchdown to force Lindenwood to close out the game.

The Lions only took 1:42 off the clock on the next drive, but
Barrett Foley nailed a 33-yard field goal to give Lindenwood a 31-14 lead with 4:32 remaining in the game. The Lindenwood defense continued to play hard as they ended hope for the RiverHawks late in the fourth quarter.Â
Ethan Staskewicz scored his first touchdown of the season to seal a 38-14 victory for the Lions. The defense registered the most sacks in a game this season with four, while the offense rushed for the second most yard this year with 261 on the ground.

Brister moves into the Lindenwood record books for most plays in a season and in a career, while also cracking the top-10 for most yards gained in a season. Foley moved his way into the record books as well as he ranks in the top-10 for most extra points made and attempted in a season.
