Lindenwood Hires Becky Taylor as the Director of Student-Athlete Mental Health

Lindenwood Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Brad Wachler has announced the hiring of Becky Taylor as the department's Director of Student-Athlete Mental Health.

"We are very excited to welcome Becky to our staff," Wachler said. "Student-Athlete wellness is a major focus of our department and her experience in the field will be a positive asset to our student-athletes' successes on and off the playing surface."

As the Director of Student-Athlete Mental Health, Taylor will be responsible for assessing and treating common mental health conditions and sports performance issues with Lindenwood's student-athletes. She also will play a critical role in mental health education and program development for the entire athletic department.

Prior to Lindenwood, Taylor worked with a wide variety of patients in both inpatient and outpatient mental health settings. She has experience in high school, private practice, inpatient substance abuse treatment, inpatient psychiatric and inpatient eating disorder settings. Taylor utilizes a strengths-based, biopsychosocial approach with her patients.

Taylor holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from Truman State University and a master's degree in social work from Saint Louis University. She is currently pursuing a Ph. D in social work at Saint Louis University. Additionally, Taylor is a licensed clinical social worker.

Taylor is a former student-athlete. She competed on the cross-country and track and field programs at Truman State.
