The Lindenwood swimming and diving teams competed at the Drury Invite on Friday and Saturday afternoon.
On day one, the women's team was led by
Simone de Rijcke, who finished the 500-yd freestyle in second place and
Erin Sutton who finished the 200-yd IM in fourth. As a team, the women picked up a third-place finish in the 200-yd freestyle relay and a second-place finish in the 400-yd medley relay. Overall, the women's team finished day one in second place with 408 points.
The men's team was led by
Justin Winnett, who finished the 200-yd IM in second place and Zach Linder, who finished the 50-yd freestyle in second place. As a team, the men picked up a third-place finish in the 200-yd freestyle relay and a second-place finish in the 400-yd medley relay. Overall, the men's team finished day one in first place with 339.5 points.
On day two, the women's team was led by
Lexie Winnett, who finished the 100-yd butterfly in second place and
Simone de Rijcke who finished the 200-yd frestyle in third place. As a team, the women picked up a second-place finish in the 200-yd medley relay and a second-place finish in the 800-yd freestyle relay. The women's team finished the event in second place out of five teams, racking up 1114 points.
The men's team was led by Zach Linder, who finished the 200-yd freestyle and 100-yd freestyle in first place and
Justin Winnett, who finished the 100-yd breaststroke in first place and the 200-yd breaststroke in second place. Winnett's 200-yd breaststroke performance ranks third in the country. As a team, the men picked up a second-place finish in the 200-yd medley relay, a third place finish in the 800-yd freestyle relay, and a first-place finish in the 400-yd freestyle relay. The men's team finished the event in second place out of five teams, racking up 1025.5 points.
The Lindenwood divers performed well this past weekend.
Dylan Callaghan finished the 1-meter dive (449.60 points) and 3-meter dive (412.60 points) in first place, while
Ashley Holloway won the 1-meter dive (424.45 points) and 3-meter dive (401.15 points).
Madison Arnold was also a standout performer, finishing both dives in second place.
Dylan Callaghan qualified for the NCAA pre-qualification meet with his performances this past week.
Both teams will be in action against on November 16
th and 17
th against Missouri S&T and the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
