Things to Know
• The Lindenwood men's basketball team is set for its first MIAA contest of the 2018-19 season on Thursday evening against Missouri Western in St. Joseph, Mo.

• Lindenwood was picked eighth in the MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll, released in October. Missouri Western was chosen 14th in the poll.

• The Lions have won eight of the previous 11 meetings with the Griffons during the all-time series. Lindenwood is 3-3 all-time in St. Joseph, Mo.

• The two teams split the season series in 2017-18, with each team winning once on its respective home court. 

• Last season, Missouri Western defeated Lindenwood, 63-51 on Feb. 1, before the Lions posted an 88-70 victory three weeks later on Feb. 24.

• The Lions and Griffons will meet again later this season on Feb. 9, 2019 in St. Charles, Mo. at 3:30 p.m.

• Lindenwood had its recent four-game winning streak snapped during its last game on Nov. 28 against top-ranked Bellarmine.

Lindenwood Notes
• Diego Womack led Lindenwood in points (13) and rebounds (6) on Nov. 28 at No. 1 Bellarmine. It was the first time in his career that Womack has led the Lions in points, and the fourth time this season he had at least 10 points.

• Womack leads Lindenwood in field-goal percentage (.597), as he has connected on 37 of his 62 attempts. Womack has a career .577 shooting percentage in 22 games as a Lion.

• Drew Moore totaled 11 points against No. 1 Bellarmine, his first double-digit performance in his last six games. Moore was 5-of-8 from the field, including one made three-pointer.

• Adam Pohlman also recorded 11 points at No. 1 Bellarmine, his third game this season scoring in double-figures. 

• Pohlman matched a career-high with three made field goals from behind the arc in the game.

• Among qualified shooters, Pohlman leads the Lions in three-point field goal percentage at 45.5 percent. Pohlman has hit on 15 of his 33 attempts from three-point territory.

• Pohlman is averaging 5.5 assists per game this season, the second-highest mark in the MIAA. Pohlman is currently eighth in NCAA Division II and third in the MIAA with a 4.00 assist-to-turnover ratio.

• Luka Radosevic matched a single-game career-high with nine points at No. 1 Bellarmine. Radosevic was three-of-four from the field.

• Brad Newman had his streak of 15 consecutive double-digit scoring performances snapped at No. 1 Bellarmine.

• Newman, who leads Lindenwood in points per game (16.6), finished the game on Nov. 28 with eight points.

• Newman scored a career-high 31 points (11-of-14 FG, 5-of-6 3PFG) in Lindenwood's last game with Missouri Western on Feb. 24, 2018.

• Lindenwood was a perfect 11-of-11 from the charity stripe at No. 1 Bellarmine. It was the eighth time in program history that the Lions finished a game perfect from the free-throw line with a minimum of 10 attempts.

• As a team, Lindenwood is shooting 75.6 percent from the free-throw line this season, the fifth-best mark in the MIAA. 

• Although Lindenwood narrowly lost the rebounding battle to No. 1 Bellarmine, 28-26, the Lions are still outrebounding their opponents by an average of 5.6 boards per game.

• Diekvoss leads Lindenwood in rebounding this season at 6.5 rebounds per game. Womack (6.3 rpg) and Moore (5.4 rpg) are the other Lion players to average above 5.0 rebounds per game.

Scouting the Competition
• Missouri Western enters Thursday's matchup with a record of 5-4 and will also be playing its first MIAA game of the season on Thursday evening.

• The Griffons will be making their home debut against the Lions, as they have played their first nine games of the season away from St. Joseph, Mo.

• Missouri Western is led by first-year head coach, Sundance Wicks, who took over the program in March of 2018.

• The Griffons are led offensively by senior forward, Lavon Hightower. Hightower leads Missouri Western in points (19.3 ppg) and rebounds (7.8 rpg) through nine games this season.

• Bryan Hudson (13.0 ppg) and Tyus Millhollin (10.7 ppg) are the other Griffon scorers to average double-digit points to begin the season.

• Hightower was an all-MIAA honorable mention selection in 2017-18.

• The Griffons finished the 2017-18 campaign with a 6-21 record, and a 4-15 mark from within the MIAA.
