Erik Henneman Sets School Record in Dominating Victory

GAME OVERVIEW
The Lindenwood football team left Joplin, Mo. with a 51-13 win over Missouri Southern on Saturday night with the help of four touchdown catches by Erik Henneman.  Lindenwood improves to 1-1 on the year and 1-1 in the MIAA while Missouri Southern drops to 0-2 on the year and 0-2 in the MIAA.  Lindenwood handed Missouri Southern its 15th-straight loss.

The Lions opened the game with back-to-back scores in the first quarter after Cameron Sanders ran it in from 10 yards out to open the scoring.  Henneman scored his first touchdown of the game on an 8-yard touchdown catch to give Lindenwood a 14-0 lead after the first quarter.  Henneman caught his second touchdown from Max Meylor to start the second quarter.

Missouri Southern scored 13-straight points to close out the first half, making it a 20-13 lead for Lindenwood.  After going scoreless for the first eight minutes of the second half, the Lions scored 28 points in the final 6:40 of the third quarter.  Henneman caught his third touchdown that was quickly followed by a pick-six for Grady Daniels.

Cade Brister threw his third touchdown of the game to Henneman to break the 22-year old school record for touchdown catches in a game.  Sanders capped off the quarter with a three-yard touchdown run.  Barrett Foley nailed a 32-yard field goal to close out the scoring and gave Lindenwood the 51-13 victory in the second game of the season.
