GAME OVERVIEW
The Lindenwood men's basketball team (10-9, 3-4 MIAA) earned an important 62-57 win at Central Missouri on Saturday afternoon to snap a three-game losing skid. The Lions were led offensively by a 27-point performance from
Brad Newman, which included 15 second-half points.
Lindenwood did not hold a lead during the first half, and Central Missouri entered the halftime intermission with a 35-28 lead.
The Lions clamped down defensively to begin the second half, limiting the Mules to just four second-half points for the first 11:30 of play. During that same stretch, Lindenwood outscored the home team by a 14-4 margin, and took a 42-39 lead, capped off by a
Drew Moore three-pointer.
Central Missouri responded with a quick 7-0 run, and took a 46-42 lead with just over five minutes left in regulation.
Over the next 1:23 of play and four Lindenwood possessions, Newman accounted for all eight of the Lions' points, helping to outscore the Mules 8-3 during that stretch. Lindenwood took the lead for good during that time, managing to hold off Central Missouri through the final buzzer and earning the 62-57 win.

- Newman led all scorers with a game-high 27 points (9-of-17 FG, 7-of-7 FT).
- Newman registered his ninth 20 point game of the season, and his fifth in the last six games.

Chandler Diekvoss was the only other double-digit scorer in the game for Lindenwood, finishing with 12 points (4-of-10 FG).
- Diekvoss notched his fifth double-double of the year, as he secured a team-high 11 rebounds.

Adam Pohlman dished out seven assists in the game, tied for his second-highest single-game total of the year.
- Lindenwood improved its record to 5-0 on the season when holding the opponent to under 60 points. The Lions are 20-4 over the last four seasons when limiting the opponent to fewer than 60 points.
- The Lions finished the afternoon shooting 45.7 percent from the field (21-of-46).
- Lindenwood held the edge in rebounding, 29-26, over Central Missouri.
- The Lions have now beaten the Mules in four straight games, including each of the last three matchups in Warrensburg.
