Things to Know
• The Lindenwood men's basketball team will open the 2019 calendar year at home on Thursday evening against No. 20 Missouri Southern. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. from Hyland Arena in St. Charles, Mo.
• Lindenwood has not played since recording a 23-point victory over Judson on its home court back on Dec. 19, 2018.
• The Lions are in the midst of a season-long four-game homestand, and will not play on the road until January 17, 2019 at Southwest Baptist.
• Lindenwood is 3-0 on its home court this season, and has won six of its last eight games at home dating back to last season.
• Lindenwood's game against No. 20 Missouri Southern is the team's sixth matchup of the season against a nationally-ranked opponent. The Lions have faced a ranked opponent in four of their last six contests.

Chandler Diekvoss notched his second-straight 20-point performance on Dec. 19 against Judson. Diekvoss finished the evening with 23 points on 9-of-13 shooting.
• Diekvoss has tallied at least 20 points in four games this season, and ranks second on the team and 14th in the MIAA in points per game (14.6 ppg).
• Diekvoss grabbed a team-high seven rebounds against Judson, raising his average to 6.6 rebounds a game. Diekvoss is the ninth leading rebounder in the MIAA this season.
• Despite missing Lindenwood's game against Judson,
Brad Newman continues to pace the team in scoring (17.7 ppg). Newman is currently 10th in the MIAA in points per game.
• Newman is closing in on a significant career milestone. Newman has 977 points in his career at Lindenwood, and is just 23 points shy of becoming the 13th Lion in program history to join the 1,000-point club.

Drew Moore accounted for 17 points in the game against Judson, the fourth time he has reached double-digit scoring this season.
• Moore hit on 6-of-12 attempts from the field, including makes on three of his six attempts from behind the three-point line, a new single-game career-high.

Adam Pohlman had a complete all-around performance during the win over Judson. Pohlman registered eight points, six assists, five rebounds, and four steals.
• Pohlman has now led the team in assists 11 times this season, and in steals eight times. Pohlman ranks fourth in the MIAA in assists per game (5.2) and is fifth in the conference in steals per game (1.7).
• Pohlman ranks second in the MIAA and fourth in NCAA Division II with a 4.10 assist-to-turnover ratio. Pohlman has 41 assists in his last seven games, while committing just eight turnovers during that time.
• Lindenwood finished the game against Judson with a field goal percentage of 46.2 percent (30-of-65). For the 10th time this season, the Lions outshot their opponents for the game, and improved their record to 7-3 in such contests.
• The Lions continued their stretch of strong play on their home court to begin the season on Dec. 19, and are now outscoring their opponents by an average of 27.4 points per game inside Hyland Arena.
• Lindenwood limited Judson to just 59 points in the Dec. 19 game, the third time this season that the Lions have held an opponent under the 60-point threshold. The Lions are 3-0 in those games, and are 18-4 when holding the opponent under 60 points over the last four seasons.

• Missouri Southern enters Thursday's matchup with an 11-1 record, and a 2-0 mark from within the MIAA.
• The visiting Lions are winners of 11 straight games, and are currently ranked 20th in the NABC poll.
• Missouri Southern has played six straight home games since Nov. 29, and has scored 100+ points in three of those six games.
• Cam Martin leads Missouri Southern in scoring (23.8 ppg) and is ranked ninth in NCAA Division II. Martin is connecting on 71.9 percent of his field goal attempts, the third best mark in the nation.
• Martin also leads Missouri Southern in rebounding (8.3 rpg), and is third in the MIAA.
• Missouri Southern boasts four scorers that average double-digit points, including Kinzer Lambert who is averaging 18.1 points per game.
