Things to Know
• The Lindenwood men's basketball team will host the Pittsburg State Gorillas at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon from Hyland Arena in St. Charles, Mo.

• Lindenwood is unbeaten on its home court during the 2018-19 season, winning all four of its games inside Hyland Arena. The Lions are currently riding a five-game winning streak at home dating back to last season.

• During its four home victories this season, the Lions are outscoring their opponents by an average of 26.0 points per game. Lindenwood is averaging 17.8 forced turnovers per game at home this season.

• On Thursday evening, Lindenwood earned its third victory over a nationally-ranked opponent in program history, taking down No. 20 Missouri Southern by a 79-57 margin.

• The Lions trailed by two points at halftime, but managed to outscore the visitors by 24 points in the second half to come away with their second MIAA victory of the season.

• Lindenwood and Pittsburg State have met 11 times before dating back to the 1988-89 season. The Lions hold a narrow 6-5 edge in the all-time series, including wins in four of the last five meetings.

• The Lions and Gorillas will meet just once during the regular season this year after playing two times a season in each of the previous four years.

Lindenwood Notes
• Chandler Diekvoss led all scorers with 24 points (9-of-16 FG) during Lindenwood's win over No. 20 Missouri Southern on Thursday evening.

• Diekvoss has now scored at least 20 points in three consecutive games, and in five games overall this season. In his last three contests, Diekvoss is averaging 22.7 points per game, while shooting 65.0 percent from the field.

• Brad Newman also reached the 20-point plateau during Thursday's victory, the sixth time he has done so this season, as he finished the evening with 21 points on 7-of-18 shooting. 

• Newman now has 998 points during his career as a Lion, and is just two points shy of becoming the 13th member of Lindenwood's 1,000-point club.

• Adam Pohlman posted his fourth double-digit scoring performance of the season on Thursday, concluding the game with 12 points on 3-of-4 shooting. 

• Pohlman leads the team in three-point field goal percentage (46.0 percent) and is second in free-throw percentage (86.7 percent).

• Pohlman ended the game with five assists and just one turnover. In the process, Pohlman is now ranked third in NCAA Division with an assist-to-turnover ratio of 4.14.

• Diego Womack picked up his eighth double-digit scoring performance of the season during Thursday's win, finishing the game with exactly 10 points on 5-of-8 shooting.

• Lindenwood forced Missouri Southern into 18 turnovers on Thursday, including 12 turnovers during the second half, where they outscored their opponent by 24 points. The Lions have won the turnover battle in 10 of their 15 games this season and are 8-2 in those games.

• Missouri Southern entered Thursday's matchup averaging 93.5 points per game, the fourth-highest per game scoring average in NCAA Division II. Lindenwood limited them to just 57 points, 36.5 points below their pace.

• Lindenwood has now held opponents to under 60 points four times this season, including three times in its last five games, and two times against MIAA foes. The Lions are unbeaten when limiting their opponent to under 60 points.

• Following its latest defensive effort, Lindenwood is allowing just 71.8 points per game, the sixth best mark in the MIAA. 

• In their four home games this season, the Lions are allowing just 58.8 points per game, and are holding their opponents to a shooting percentage of 41.7.

Scouting the Competition
• Pittsburg State enters Saturday's matchup with a record of 9-3, including a 2-1 mark from within the MIAA.

• The Gorillas currently sit in fifth place in the conference standings, and are one of six teams that hold a 2-1 mark in MIAA play.

• Pittsburg State tied for fifth in the MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll, after finishing the 2017-18 season with a 17-13 record.

• The Gorillas are led offensively by the scoring duo of Grant Lozoya and Donovan Franklin. Lozoya leads the MIAA in scoring (26.6 ppg), while Franklin is third in the conference (20.5).

• In its most recent game on Jan. 3, Pittsburg State suffered a 96-85 loss at Lincoln. Lozoya and Franklin combined for 49 points on 16-of-39 shooting.

• Pittsburg State has the MIAA's third-best scoring offense at 87.9 points per game, but is also allowing 77.9 points per game, the second-worst mark in the conference.

• The Gorillas have scored at least 85 points in eight of their 12 games this season.
