The Lindenwood football team (2-3, 2-0 GLVC) will look to take down No. 24 Truman State (5-0, 2-0 GLVC) on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. for Homecoming at Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Mo.
The Lions are 1-0 in the series history, after defeating the Bulldogs 38-13 in 2012. Andrew Helmick went off by catching 10 passes for 213 yards and two scores. Denodus O'Bryant scored twice after compiling 171 yards on the ground and 41 yard through the air. Pierre Desir tallied his ninth interception of the season in the road win, setting the program record for most in a single season.
Lindenwood is coming off a 45-37 shootout victory over McKendree last week, moving to 2-0 in GLVC play. Truman State picked up a 52-7 blowout win over Southwest Baptist last week, and finally cracked the top-25 polls earlier in the week.
In the current GLVC standings, only four teams remain undefeated in conference play. No. 10 UIndy (5-0, 2-0 GLVC) will take on Quincy this weekend, while Missouri S&T (4-1, 2-0 GLVC) will hit the road for a non-conference game against Texas Southern.
Cade Brister is coming off his best game as a Lion, although he played just three quarters. Brister was 22-for-28 and racked up 401 yards through the air. Along with his four passing touchdowns to four different receivers, Brister added 14 rushing yards.
Brister was named GLVC Offensive Player of the Week, while
Drew Seers earned GLVC Defensive Player of the Week recognition. Seers tallied 17 tackles, made one stop in the backfield, and recovered a fumble. Seers had a quarterback hurry on the final defensive play of the game, forcing an incompletion on fourth down.
