Synchronized swimming earned five medals at the Jessica Beck Memorial Invitational February 2 in Columbus, Ohio. 
 
A contingent of just six Lady Lions traveled to the event as Lindenwood chose to opt out of the team competition and just compete in trios, duets, and solo, but the results proved that the Lady Lion are poised for success this season. 
 
"I was very proud of our performances this weekend," said Head Coach Mikayla Francese. "Despite being in the middle of our rigorous training and competition schedule, we showed that we are in the top of the pack. We will only get stronger from here."
 
The group of Kyra Hoevertsz, Oyku Evliya and Maria Escalona earned the bronze in the trio event with a score of 78.2000 while the pair of Sarolta Lukovszky and Marialaura Villasana took the bronze in the duet event with a score of 76.8000. Just ahead in the duet event were teammates Hoevertsz and Maria Lluc Bonnin with a second place score of 77.1000.  Villasana earned the bronze in the solo event with a score of 77.1500 while Hoevertsz grabbed the silver placement with a score of 78.3750.
 
"We have high goals this season," Francese added. "We are excited to now show our team routine at the next competition to gain experience and feedback that will only help for Collegiate Nationals in March."
 
The Lady Lions compete February 8-9 in San Antonio, Texas where they will face Stanford University and the University of Incarnate Word.
