A slow start on both sides of the ball put women's water polo in a hole that was too big to overcome in a 9-5 loss to McKendree Sunday morning in O'Fallon, Illinois.
The Lions trailed 5-1 after the first quarter and 7-1 at halftime before they turned things around in the second half with Lindenwood scoring four goals while giving up just two.Â
Noelle Redman led the offense with two markers while
Isabella Boccia, Nicole, and
Emily Kini each added single tallies in the contest.Â
Paige Miller earned two assists while
Naomi Sanders helped on one goal and led the team with three steals, along with
Abby VerMeer. Boccia had two steals and Kini one.Â
Harmony Moran made four saves in goal, blocked a five-meter penalty shot, and had one steal in the field.
