Eight Lions were named collegiate All-Americans by USA Rugby for the 2018-19 season.
Eight man and captain
Wesley White and fullback
Cristian Rodriguez received dual honors with inclusion on both the 15's and sevens First Team lists. White was a runaway locomotive in both codes and a constant threat to score a try from anywhere on the field while Rodriguez was a dangerous winger in 15's and the consummate halfback/sweeper in sevens. He won turnovers and created scoring opportunities against the best teams in the country.
Prop
Alec McDonnell and flanker
Michael de Waal earned a spot on the 15's Second Team through their hard work in the forwards. Both players played key roles in the post-season run for the Lions and now look forward to opportunities in Major League Rugby, the United States professional circuit.
Center
Lorenzo Thomas was extremely impressive again this year as the leader of the Lindenwood sevens squad. His prowess as a ball carrier and aerial threat keyed another impressive national championship run and earned him a spot on the USA Rugby Sevens First Team.
Freshman wing
Tyren Al-Jiboori made the sevens Second Team due to his finishing ability and relentless work on both sides of the ball. Entering just his sophomore year, he appears to have a bright future with the Lions.
Junior
Nick Taylor and freshman
Marnus Spangenberg were recognized on the sevens Honorable Mention Team. Taylor has been a workhorse for the Lions for years and is finally being recognized for his impact on the pitch. Spangenberg was brand new to the sevens code and his defensive prowess contributed to the 2019 national championship.
Each year, USA Rugby selects its All-Americans based on those athletes that have been the most consistent and dynamic players throughout the season.
