The Lindenwood men's basketball team lost at home to the undefeated Bellarmine Knights, 65-56, on Saturday evening. After the loss to the Knights, the Lions' season record drops to 8-7, with a 2-5 mark within the GLVC.
GAME OVERVIEW
Both teams brought a strong defensive effort early in the game, as neither team was able to put together an offensive run to create a big lead. Neither team led by more than three points through the first nine and a half minutes of the game. After trailing by as much as seven points in the first half, the Lions went into halftime down just four points.
In the first half, the Lions shot 39.1 percent from the field, while burying 4-11 threes. The Lions shot well from deep in the second half, making 7-17 threes, for 41.2 percent shooting from beyond the arc. The Knights shot 44.4 percent from the field, and 40.0 percent from three-point territory in the first 20 minutes.
After trailing by six points at the 18 minute mark in the second half, the Lions put together a 6-0 run to tie the game up at 33. From there, the Knights took the lead back and never looked back, leading by as much as 16 points in the half. Bellarmine outshot Lindenwood from the field in the second half, 62.5 percent to 33.3 percent.

- Cameron Scales led Lindenwood with 18 points on 6-9 shooting, while also bringing in three rebounds.
- The 18 points was Scales' second-highest scoring output of the season, with his season-high 20 points coming in the first matchup between Lindenwood and Bellarmine earlier in the season.
- Against Bellarmine this season, Scales has scored 38 points, while shooting 12-18 from beyond the arc.
- Sukhman Bhinder set a new career-high in rebounds with six for the game. Bhinder's next-highest total for rebounds in a game came against Florida Southern when he brought in four boards.
- Lindenwood's bench outscored Bellarmine's bench, 26-11, with Scales leading the charge for Lindenwood with 18 points.

UP NEXT
Lindenwood will stay at home to face the Missouri-St. Louis Tritons on Monday, Jan. 20 at 7:30 p.m. in the Hyland Arena. Following Monday's game, the Lions hit the road for a two-game stretch with matchups against Lewis University and Illinois Springfield on Jan. 23 and 25, respectively.
