Wisconsin BMX Rider Commits to Lindenwood Cycling

Megan Dudgeon became the first student-athlete to commit to the Lindenwood cycling program for fall 2020.

The Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin native is a BMX specialist that has already found success in the sport.  She most recently finished fourth at the Badger State and Mid-America Nationals. She finished third in the Wisconsin state rankings from 2015 to 2017, second in the rankings from 2018 to 2019, and third in the Gold Cup rankings in 2018.

Dudgeon has been BMX racing for six years and she started in the discipline due to a close friend who tried it and then convinced her to do it as well.  It was just for fun the first couple of years, but when she aged into the 15-16 Girls class, Dudgeon started to take it more seriously and train more.

"Competing in the 17-20 Women's class has proved to be the toughest challenge so far," she noted.  "But, I am excited to continue improving and bring home large trophies."

Future goals for Dudgeon include improving her overall mentality at the racetrack and winning at least one national level race.  She lists her favorite athlete as Niek Kimman because "his experience and skill are spectacular to watch and even when he is having a bad race day, he still maintains a good attitude."

Dudgeon only wears black socks, loves her dog, likes peanut butter blossom cookies the best, and loves BMX because of the new people she always meets.  She graduates from Lincoln High School this spring and will arrive as a freshman at Lindenwood majoring in International Relations.
