After netting the game-winner in the final 15-seconds last night, women's ACHA hockey found more heroics with an overtime goal to defeat Midland 2-1 in Women's Midwest College Hockey (WMCH) action Sunday afternoon at Sidner Arena in Fremont, Nebraska.

The Lions trailed for most of the contest after yielding a score just 33-seconds into the game.  It was 1-0 in favor of the Warriors when they threatened to expand their lead after a Lindenwood hooking penalty late in the second, but the Lions turned the tables as the power play carried over into the third. Kim Turcotte intercepted the puck, broke free alone, and found the back of the net short-handed and unassisted at the 38-second mark to tie the game 1-1. 

Both teams had chances the rest of the period, but neither could cash in and time ran out in regulation, sending the game into overtime.  In the three-on-three battle, Lindenwood pushed forward on a rush.  Kennedy Frank fed the puck on a nice pass to Tessa O'Connor who buried it in the back of the cage at 1:49 into the extra time.  

The Lions outshot Midland 40 to 30 and Emily McDonald stopped 29 of the 30 pucks she faced to earn the win in goal.

With the victory, Lindenwood maintained a perfect record at 4-0 and improved to 2-0 in the WMCH.   The Lions return to action with another conference series on the road against Liberty University January 22-23.  The opening face off is scheduled for 9:45 p.m. Friday night and 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon at the Lahaya Ice Center in Lynchburg, Virginia.
