Women's ACHA ice hockey traveled across town to the Maryville Hockey Center in Chesterfield, Missouri and shutout the Saints 5-0 Friday evening for a fifth straight win.
The Lions took a 1-0 lead in the first period off of a
Risa Shatford goal and built a 3-0 advantage in the second with scores from
Tessa O'Connor and
Rylee Gee.
MacKenzie Drost and
Kim Turcotte sounds the horn in the third for the final margin.
Emily McDonald turned away every shot she faced to earn the victory in goal for Lindenwood.
With the win, the Lions improved to 6-2-1 overall and to 2-1-1 in Women's Midwest Collegiate Hockey (WMCH) play. Lindenwood heads to the Metro East to face McKendree in another WMCH game Saturday afternoon with the puck drop at 3 p.m. at the McKendree Rec-Plex in Lebanon, Illinois. The Lions will head back to Chesterfield for a second contest against Maryville at 5 p.m. on Sunday.
