The BMX cycling squad competed at the Race of Champions November 25-26 and at Grand Nationals November 27-28 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Joey Leto,
Jenna Jeffers, and
Megan Dudgeon were the only ones who qualified at the Race of Champions. Jeffers competed in 17-20 Women Cruiser and 17-20 Women Expert. She earned fifth in the main event for Cruiser and sixth in the semi for Women Expert. Dudgeon finished seventh in her semi.
The rookie pro season for
Joey Leto ranked him 12
th among the Elite Men Pros in the American Circuit. He also earned third place in the race.
The rest of the BMX team was able to compete at Grand Nationals Saturday and Sunday.Â
Franck Bock earned third place in the 21-25 Novice Class. Jeffers raced the 21-30 Women Cruiser and 21-30 Women Expert races, earning seventh in Cruiser and sixth in class.Â
Skylar Schaetz ended her day with a crash in the semis of the 21-30 Women Expert division. She was also invited to race the National Age Group (NAG) Five Challenge, which took the top-five riders ages 15-30. Â
Lexi Nephew did not make it out of qualifying motos for both Class and cruiser.
Cooper Bromley and
Juan Jimenez competed in 17-20 Expert, and both made it out of qualifying. Jimenez failed to advance past the 16
th race, but Cooper advanced to the quarters. Leto qualified for the Pro B main and finished seventh.
The cycling team switches gears for the USA Cycling Collegiate Cyclocross National Championships December 7-12 in Wheaton, Illinois. Â
