The Lindenwood women's hockey team (3-13-0, 3-3-0 CHA) will close out the 2021 calendar year with a two-game series against St, Thomas (4-11-1, 2-11-1 WCHA). Game one on Friday is set for 7:10 p.m., while the series finale will begin at 2:20 p.m., all from Centene Community Ice Center in Maryland Heights, Mo.

Lindenwood and St. Thomas will meet for the first time this weekend. The Lions are coming off a series sweep of RIT by scores of 4-1 and 3-1, respectively.

The Lions' special teams were a key factor in picking up two wins last weekend, as Lindenwood netted five powerplay goals in the series, including three in the 4-1 win. Lindenwood was a perfect 8-8 on the penalty kill against the Tigers.

Lindenwood found late success in the second game against RIT when
Maddison Stitt found the back of the net with two seconds remaining in the second frame to tie the game, 1-1. Stitt netted her second goal of the game late in the final frame, helping Lindenwood pick up the 3-1 victory.

Natalie Ferenc was strong in goal for Lindenwood as the West Bloomfield, Mich. native compiled a total of 40 saves, earning a pair of victories. The junior netminder has been between the pipes for all three wins by the Lions this season.

The Lions bring a balanced attack offensively, seeing seven players have three or more goals on the season. Valarie Caldwell leads the way with five tallies, while
Megan Wagner and
Sierra Burt have four apiece. Burt also has nine assists, which rank eighth best in the CHA.

St. Thomas enters the weekend with a record of 4-11-1, including a 2-11-1 mark inside WCHA play. The Tommies dropped both games of a home and home with Minnesota State last weekend and have lost six-consecutive games.
