The Lindenwood men's basketball team (8-8, 8-8 GLVC) picked up its second overtime victory of the season, as the Lions took down Missouri S&T (4-12, 4-12 GLVC) by a final of 89-77 in Rolla, Mo.

GAME OVERVIEW
In the second-straight game, Lindenwood started off slow in the first five minutes.Â
TJ Crockett hit a jumper at the 15:19 mark of the first half to make it a 3-3 ballgame. Crockett went on to score the next six points for the Lions, as Lindenwood took a 9-5 lead near the halfway point of the first half. The Miners and Lions remained close through the half, but a free throw by
Frazier Ott gave Lindenwood a 32-26 lead after 20 minutes of play.
Â
Lindenwood put together an early run to start the second half, and took a 10-point lead after a jumper in the paint by Crockett. The Lions struggled to pull away from the Miners, as Missouri S&T slowly chipped away at the Lindenwood lead. Missouri S&T finally tied the game at the 2:59 mark in the second half, and the game went to overtime after the two teams were deadlocked at 67-67 to end regulation.
Â
Romelo Burrell opened the overtime period with a three pointer to make it 70-67. After a bucket by the Miners, the senior from Chicago, Ill. added a pair of free throws less than a minute later to maintain a slim lead. Missouri S&T went down the court and missed a three pointer, and
Cameron Scales had one of the best offensive sequences on the ensuing possession. Scales worked his way into position to grab two offensive rebounds before making a layup while getting fouled for the three-point play.
Â
The momentum shift allowed Lindenwood to take a double-digit lead more than a minute later. The Lions held on to their lead for the remainder of the overtime period, and left Rolla, Mo. with an 89-77 win over Missouri S&T. Scales closed the game with a team-high 14 rebounds, while Burrell registered his third double-double of the season. Lindenwood generated 25 points off turnovers, and scored 16 second-chance points. The Lions outrebounded the Miners 51-43, as Ott provided eight rebounds off the bench to go along with his eight points.

QUOTABLE
"Just guts tonight," said head coach
Kyle Gerdeman. "Without (Kevin) Caldwell and bouncing back from a tough loss, this was just a gutsy effort. We had some great individual efforts on the boards and getting tough buckets, but we had a great team effort today."
