Men's Swimming & Diving (Discontinued)

Women's Swimming & Diving Finishes Fourth, Men's Fifth at NCAA DII Championships

Lindenwood swimming & diving capped off the final day of the NCAA DII Championships on Saturday. The men's team finished fifth among 31 teams with 314.5 points, while the women's team accumulated 364 points, well enough for fourth place among 29 teams.

DAY 1 WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
  • In the 200 IM Prelims, Beata Maruszczyk finished 10th with a time of 2:03.55.
  • Lexie Winnett secured 8th in the 50 Yard Free with a Prelims time of 23.44. Kirsten Votova was 16th with a 23.61 Prelims time.
DAY 1 MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS DAY 2 WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
  • Jana Hellenschmidt finished 4th in the 1000 Free with a time of 10:01.03, while Leticia Rodrigues finished 6th with a time of 10:08.30, as both athletes earned first-team All-American honors in the event.
  • Beata Maruszczyk earned honorable mention All-American status in the 200 IM with a time of 2:03.72, finishing in 12th place.
  • Lexie Winnett was named a first-team All-American in the 50 Free with an 8th place time of 23.59, while Kirsten Votava was an honorable mention All-American honoree after tallying a 23.51 finals time.
  • The quad of Stephanie Marks, Maruszczyk, Winnett, and Votava earned first-team All-American honors in the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:42.41.
  • Votava, Winnett, Marks, and Hellenschmidt finished the 200 Free Relay with a time of 1:32.73, earning first-team All-American honors.
  • Winnett was honored as a first-team All-American in the 100 Yard Butterfly, finishing 8th, with a time of 55.05.
  • Hellenschmidt finished 4th in the 400 Yard IM with a time of 4:16.39, while Lyssa Wood was named a honorable mention All-American with a 4:21.87 finals time in the event.
  • Maruszczyk, competing in the 200 Free, finished 7th with a time of 1:49.91, while Rodrigues finished 16th with a time of 1:50.94.
  • Marks, Maruszczyk, Winnett, and Votava combined for a 7th place finish in the 400 Medley Relay, earning first-team All-American status.
  • Elle Christie and Katie Werkema competed in the 1 Meter Dive. Christie finished 6th with a score of 420.60, while Werkema came in 10th with a 401.70 score.
DAY 2 MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
  • Matheo Mateos-Mongelos (1:46.16) and Patryk Winiatowski (1:46.72) were both first-team All-Americans with their placements in the 200 IM with a 4th and 6th place finish, respectively.
  • Vincent Jaworski was named a first-team All-American in the 1000 Free with a time of 9:13.33. Jan Hanzal earned honorable mention All-American accolades in the event with a 9:18.32 time.
  • Elliott Irwin is an honorable mention All-American for his 12th place finish in the 50 Free (19.85).
  • Mateos-Mongelos, Jerry Brown, Irwin, and Zach Linder finished 6th in the 200 Medley Relay, capturing first-team All-American honors, with a time of 1:26.75.
  • Linder, Irwin, Winiatowski, and Brown worked in the 200 Free Relay to a 4th place finish, completing it in 1:18.44, earning first-team All-American status.
  • Irwin and Winiatowski finished the 100 Yard Butterfly in 9th and 15th, respectively, earning honorable mention All-American honors.
  • Mateos-Mongelos and Hanzal, finished 6th and 9th in the 400 IM, respectively.
  • In the 400 Medley Relay, Mateos-Mongelos, Brown, Irwin, and Linder finished 6th with a time of 3:11.40.
  • Dylan Callaghan competed in the 3 Meter Dive, finishing 10th with a score of 456.60.
DAY 3 WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
  • Jana Hellenschmidt (6th) and Leticia Rodrigues (10th) earned All-American accolades in the 500 Yard Free. Hellenschmidt on the first team, and Rodrigues on the honorable mention All-American team for the race.
  • Stephanie Marks finished 6th in the 100 Yard Backstroke, earning first-team All-American honors.
  • Lexie Winnett finished 7th in the 100 Breast, while Beata Maruszczyk finished 14th, earning All-American honors.
  • Katie Werkema is a first-team All-American for her 7th place finish in the 3 Meter Dive. Elle Christie is an honorable mention All-American after finishing 10th.
  • The quad of Camilla Rimmereide, Maruszczyk, Rodrigues, and Hellenschmidt finished 3rd in the 800 Free Relay, securing a spot on the All-American first team.
DAY 3 MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
  • Jerry Brown collected the title of National Champion in the 100 Yard Breaststroke after finishing 1st with a time of 52.77. He is the sole Lion to receive National Championship status at the event.
  • Patryk Winiatowski earned the nod for first-team All-American status in the 200 Yard Butterfly with a 5th place finish.
  • Melker Olsson is an honorable mention All-American in the 500 Free after finishing 13th with a time of 4:29.58.
  • Matheo Mateos-Mongelos, Winiatowski, Zach Linder, and Vincent Jaworski combined for a 5th place finish in the 800 Free Relay.
DAY 4 WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
  • Jana Hellenschmidt finished 8th in the 1650 Free, guaranteeing herself first-team All-American honors. Leticia Rodrigues concluded the event in 9th, earning honorable mention All-American accolades in the race.
  • Stephanie Marks finished 10th in the 200 Backstroke with a time of 1:58.89. Shelby Kasse came in 15th with her clocking of 2:02.10.
  • Beata Maruszczyk finished in 4th in the 200 Breast, with a time of 2:15.71, earning first-team All-American honors.
  • Kirsten Votava, Marks, Hellenschmidt, and Lexie Winnett finished 5th (3:24.36) in the 400 Free Relay.
DAY 4 MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
  • Jan Hanzal is an honorable mention All-American in the 1650 Free after finishing 15th.
  • Patryk Winiatowski (first-team All-American) and Zach Linder (honorable mention All-American) secured a 7th and 9th place finish, respectively, in the 100 Free.
  • Wiktor Kedzia finished 11th in the 200 Backstroke with a time of 1:45.95.
  • Jerry Brown tallied a 5th place finish in the 200 Breast with a time of 1:58.10.
  • Dylan Callaghan finished 15th in the 1 Meter Dive (415.75).
  • The quad of Winiatowski, Elliott Irwin, Brown, and Linder earned first-team All-American honors in the 400 Free Relay with a 3rd place finish.
