Women's ACHA hockey gave up a goal in the early moments of the third period and ultimately fell to Midland 2-0 Saturday afternoon at Sidner Arena in Fremont, Nebraska. 

The Lions took a hooking penalty in the waning moments of the second that carried over into the final frame and the Warriors capitalized on the power play chance 57-seconds later.  Midland added an even strength goal with 56-seconds remaining in regulation.  Lindenwood put 25 shots on goal in the contest, but couldn't find the back of the net, even after pulling the goaltender late for an extra attacker.

Emily McDonald stopped 20 of the 22 pucks she faced as the Lions dropped to 12-4-0 overall and to 8-4-0 in the Women's Midwest College Hockey action.  The Warriors host Lindenwood in the second game of the series Sunday afternoon at 12 p.m. at Sidner Arena in Fremont, Nebraska.
