Courtney Mitchell each competed on vault as individuals on Friday night during the NCAA Regionals in Morgantown W. Va.
Leman had the best finish out of the trio of Lions as the Dakalb, Ill. native posted a score of 9.800, which was good for a tie for 11th place, which is the second-best finish for a Lion on vault at regionals, behind
Kierstin Sokolowski who finished in a tie for second back in 2018. . This season on vault, Leman compiled a 9.800 or better during six meets.
Baze placed 16th in the 29-person field that included West Virginia, Michigan, California, BYU, UCLA, Kent State, Ohio State, Penn State, Townson as well as other individuals competing, as the Colleyville, Texas native scored a 9.775. The senior has compiled scores of 9.775 or higher in seven meets this season on the vault.
Mitchell came in just behind Baze, as the Olathe, Kan. native finished in 17th place, recording a 9.750. She has recorded a 9.750 or better in nine meets this season.
Lindenwood will return to action at the USA Gymnastics Women's Collegiate National Championships in Cape Girardeau, Mo. on April 10-11. The Lions have won three of the last five USAG titles and will enter the event as the defending champions from 2019.
