The cycling team took third in the overall Team Omnium standings at the USA Cycling Collegiate Track National Championships September 9-11 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Team Omnium Podium
The Lions totaled 848 points to finish 102 points behind Colorado Mesa University in second and 62 points ahead of Milligan University in fourth. Marian University captured the top spot overall with 1,016 points.
In the Men's Individual Omnium standings,
Dillon Geary was the top Lindenwood rider, taking sixth with 166 points, while
Jacob Slosar finished 20th with 83 points.Â
Staci McCudden was the top Lion in the Women's Individual Omnium, taking eighth with 150 points. She was followed by
Marissa Carter in 11th, who totaled 134 points despite missing two events due to a major crash. Â
Competition began on Thursday with the Flying Time Trials.Â
Ian Borella posted a time of 11.492 seconds to finish seventh in the men's field while
Skylar Schaetz was the top Lion in the women's field with a time of 13.681 seconds to take 12th, followed by Carter in 13th with 13.784.
The Lions earned a podium finish in the Men's Team Pursuit, taking third overall.Â

Asa Black, Slosar, and Geary combined for a time of 4:41.9. In the Women's Team Pursuit, the Lindenwood team of
Noni Bertagnoli, Carter,
Johanna Gref, and McCudden posted a time of 5:26.7 to take fourth.
Men's Team Pursuit Podium
The Sprints kicked off things on Friday with
Ian Borella earning a spot on the men's podium in second.
Franck Bock rounded out the top 10. Carter took eighth in the women's event.
In the Men's Scratch race, Geary was the top Lion in fifth, with Slosar finishing 10th. McCudden paced Lindenwood in the women's event with a fifth place showing, with Carter taking eighth.
Skylar Schaetz posted a time of 40.149 seconds to take 11th in the Women's Time Trial. She was followed by Carter in 13th, just over one-half second behind.
The Men's Individual Pursuit concluded action on Friday with Geary taking fourth with a time of 4:51.3.Â
Thomas Fuller earned a top-20 finish in 19th at 5:07.4.
Ian Borella paced the Lions in the Men's Time Trial on Saturday, taking 10th with a time of 1:10.394. Bock and Geary were less than a second behind to finish 14th and 15th respectively. Â
In the Women's Individual Pursuit, McCudden posted a time of 4:17.947 to take 11th. Â
The Lions had a solid showing in the Team Sprint, taking third place. The squad of Bertagnoli, Schaetz, Bock, Borella, Geary, and Slosar combined for a time of 2:17.6. Â
In the final events of the championship, Geary took ninth in the Men's Points Race, while McCudden finished seventh in the Women's Points Race.

The cycling team switches disciplines to mountain bike for the next few weeks. The Lions host an event in Wildwood, Missouri September 18-19, then travel to Columbia, Kentucky for an event hosted by Lindsey Wilson College September 25-26, and to Banner Elk, North Carolina for an event hosted by Lee's McRae College October 2-3. Â
