Box Score Lindenwood field hockey (2-0) posted a shutout win, 5-0, against Seton Hill (Pa.) (1-1, 0-0 PSAC) on Saturday in a neutral site contest.
GAME OVERVIEW
The Lions scored their first goal late in the opening quarter of play, as
Izzy Folan found
Mia Simpson to put the team up, 1-0, with 0:52 left.
Pauline Terwindt continued her early season offensive tear, scoring two solo goals in the second quarter. One came with 11:75 left, and the other came with 2:54 remaining in the half. She now has three goals scored in the first two matchups of the season.
After being held scoreless in the third quarter, the Lions responded with two more goals in the fourth period.
Rachel Goebel notched the first goal of her career on an assist from
Izzy Folan with 7:52 left in the half.
Allie Hosto found
Izzy Folan for the team's final goal, sealing the 5-0 victory for Lindenwood.
The Lions were able to work three goalkeepers into the game, with Leah
Brozovich making one save in two quarters in the net, after earning the start.
Yamilet Bravo-Ayala and
Kyla Cooke each played a quarter in relief at goalkeeper, as Bravo-Ayala finished with two saves, and Cooke tallied one save.
