The Lindenwood women's soccer team earned a postseason birth in the Ohio Valley Conference Championship field after concluding the regular season portion of its schedule this past weekend. The Lions were one of eight teams to earn a bid.
"This is an exciting time for our players and program." said head coach
Dave Musso. "Making the OVC post-season in this first year in NCAA DI was a goal of ours. We now take one game at a time and all focus is towards Friday at 4:00 P.M. vs. Southern Indiana."
Lindenwood has had a solid season on the pitch, compiling a record of 5-7-5, including a 2-2-4 mark inside conference play. The Lions recorded eight shutouts during the regular season.
The Lions enter the postseason as the fifth seed, setting up a matchup with the eighth seed, Southern Indiana on Friday, October 28 at 4:00 p.m. in Cape Girardeau, Mo. Lindenwood and USI played to a 0-0 draw in the regular season.
First Rounds will take place on Oct. 28 followed by the quarterfinals on Oct. 30. The semifinals will be held on Nov. 4 while the championship will be on Nov. 6. The entire championship will be broadcast on ESPN+.
