The roller hockey Black squad went 3-2 in Midwest Collegiate Roller Hockey League (MCRHL) action November 19-20 at the Bethel Wildcat Arena in Huntingdon, Tennessee. After suffering a shutout loss 7-0 to Henry Ford Community College on Saturday, the Lions stopped Michigan State AA 5-2 and Ohio State D2 10-3 later in the day. Lindenwood then shut out Ohio State AA 11-0 Sunday morning, but then fell to Bethel (Tenn.) AA 7-0 Sunday afternoon.
In the opening contest of the weekend, the Hawks contained the Lions offense the entire game while outshooting Lindenwood 41-17.
Adam Whicker stopped 34 of the 41 shots he faced to take the loss in goal for the Lions.
Lindenwood rebounded nicely against the Spartans, paced by a four-goal second period.
Jonathan Chappell made 28 saves on 30 shots for a .933 save percentage to earn Star No. 1 honors.
Lucas LeClair scored a goal and added an assist for Star No. 2 recognition. Nicholaus Meyer also scored a goal and had an assist and was named Star No. 3 in the game. Matthew Sherman, Tristin Zeik, and Matthew Tilley accounted for the other three Lions goals. Lindenwood outshot Michigan State 35-30.
In the final contest of the day, the Lions opened up a 4-0 lead and pulled away from the Buckeyes in the third period. Meyer netted three goals and earned Star No. 1 honors. Sherman also had a hat trick for Lindenwood and received Star No. 2 recognition.
Trevor West helped the cause with four assists and was named Star No. 3.

Ethan Erlewein, and LeClair each scored once and Whicker stopped 20 of 23 shots faced as the Lions outshot Ohio State 27-23.
Sunday morning against Ohio State AA, Lindenwood scored a short-handed goal just 17-seconds into the game and never looked back. LeClair earned Star No. 1 status with four goals and an assist, Zeik had a hat trick and an assist for Star No. 2 recognition, and Meyer scored once with four assists for Star No. 3 honors. The Lions outshot the Buckeyes 44-10 and Chappell stopped all 10 shots he faced to earn the shutout victory in goal.
After scoring 11 goals in the previous game, the Lindenwood offense was stymied against Bethel AA in a shutout loss. The Wildcats outshot the Lions 29-24 and Whicker stopped 22 of the 29 pucks he faced to take the loss in goal.
The Black squad now has an overall record of 8-2. The Lions return to action in the spring.
