On Friday, Inside Lacrosse announced their DII Preseason All-American List, and
Chase Showalter and
Brian Kallberg of the Lindenwood men's lacrosse team made the cut.
This year's list consisted of athletes from 31 different programs across the country, and there was an Honorable Mention category created to accommodate the long list of talented players to watch.
Showalter made his way into the honorable mention group after a solid 2021 campaign. The senior midfielder was a one-time USILA Team of the Week selection, a one-time GLVC Defensive Player of the Week, and made the GLVC Academic all-conference team. In 13 games, Showalter caused 20 turnovers and scooped up 32 ground balls.
Kallberg was also named to the honorable mention squad after a strong sophomore season in 2021. The Minnesota native was one of the team captains and made first-team all-GLVC. Kallberg also played in 13 games, making 12 starts, scooping up 40 ground balls and leading the team in caused turnovers with 26 total. The defender was ranked sixth best in the GLVC with 1.91 caused turnovers per game.
Showalter, Kallberg and the rest of the Lions will kick off their season on Saturday, February 19 at home against Rockhurst University.
