ST. CHARLES, MO. - The Lindenwood field hockey team fell to Maryville in a close 2-1 loss on Saturday in St. Louis, Mo.
GAME OVERVIEWÂ
Maryville set the tone early, scoring within the first five minutes of the game. They would maintain their 1-0 lead until the third quarter, where they capitalized on one of their only chances of the game, making things 2-0 and an uphill battle for Lindenwood, although the Lions were greatly outshooting the Saints.
Pauline Terwindt would go on to net the Lions' only goal of the day during the fourth quarter, not letting Maryville off with the shutout.
Mia Simpson assisted her off a feed from the left side, and the score would stay at 1-2 for the remaining minutes of the game, despite the Lions' strong effort to come back.

INSIDE THE BOX SCOREÂ
Terwindt scored the lone goal for the Lions off the assist from Simpson. The two tag-teamed the most shots for Lindenwood today, with Simpson leading the way with six total and Terwindt coming in a close second with five shots on the day.Â
The Lions outshot Maryville 20-4 in the game, putting 10 shots on goal as opposed to the Saints' three.
