Football Hosts SEMO on Saturday

The Lindenwood football team (2-1, 0-1 OVC) will return to Hunter Stadium on Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff against Southeast Missouri State (3-1, 0-0 OVC) in St. Charles, Mo.

The Lions are coming off a loss on the road to No. 19 UT Martin.  The Skyhawks have moved up in the FCS Coaches Poll to No. 17, and No. 15 in the Stats Perform Top 25.  Offensively, Payton Rose was electric as he hauled in seven passes for 156 yards.

Andrew Martin scored his second rushing touchdown of the year, while Darrin Fugitt and Jeff Caldwell each scored their first career points.  Logan Seibert knocked in another field goal of 40 yards or more for the fourth time this year.

Cade Brister set the new school record for passing yards in a career.  Brister now sits at 8,648 yards in a Lindenwood uniform, passing Ben Kisner who set the mark in 2008.  The senior from O'Fallon, Mo. has collected over 10,000 yards of total offense in his career, a first in program history.  Rose eclipsed the 100-yard receiving mark for the second-straight week, drawing him within 250 yards of the all-time record for receiving yards in a career at Lindenwood.

The Redhawks will visit St. Charles, Mo. for the first meeting between the two programs.  In the inaugural meeting between the two schools, a rivalry will begin as they compete for bragging rights in the "Game Ball Brawl".

SEMO is currently ranked No. 24 in the Stats Perform rankings, while receiving votes in the FCS Coaches Poll.  The Redhawks have won their last three games, including a 35-27 victory over Central Arkansas this past weekend.

Lindenwood will honor its 2022 Hall of Fame class on Saturday during the game, with a ceremony to follow.  Former Lindenwood Lions, Pat Ross and Connor Harris, are two of the five individual inductees.
