Women's ACHA ice hockey fell to Liberty University 8-1 in Women's Midwest College Hockey (WMCH) action Saturday night at the Centene Community Ice Center in Maryland Heights, Missouri.
The Lions took an early lead when
Loki Antonio netted a shot at 3:31 of the first on a play set up by
Madison Teague and
Ardyn Hawryshko, but it was all Flames afterwards. Goals at 5:58 and 8:15 gave Liberty a 2-1 advantage. Another four goals in the second and two more in the third put the game away.
The Flames outshot Lindenwood 54-26 and
Emily McDonald made 46 saves on the 54 shots she faced in goal for the Lions. Only three penalties were called in the game, but all nine goals scored were at even strength.
With the loss, Lindenwood dropped to 4-5-1 in the WMCH and to 5-10-1 overall. The Lions have another WMCH contest on Friday as they host Midland University at 8 p.m. at the Centene Community Ice Center.
