Five current men's rugby players and one future Lion recently participated in the USA Rugby High Performance U20 ID Camp held in Chula Vista, California December 26-28.
Caden Syddall,
Jeremy Zwick,
Luke Schaefer,
Dylan Fortune and
Hailama Anakalea are competing for Lindenwood during the 2022-23 season and Nick Orefice will join the Lions in the fall of 2023.
The camp is part of the second annual series of talent ID camps and is one of 14 different events across the United States over a five-month period. The Chula Vista camp focused on assessment and development, with an eye towards the Junior World Trophy qualification taking place next summer.
Men's Rugby Head Coach
Josh Macy was happy about the Lions participation at the camp.
"These young Lions are gaining valuable experience in the offseason and I'm sure they are measuring up well against their peers," he said. "Any time you can wear the red, white, and blue, it's special."
With six Lindenwood athletes participating, the Lions continue to be the most represented group at the All-American camp each winter, with many going on to represent Team USA.
USA Sevens All-American

The Falcons will be returning to the event after it was on a two-year hiatus.
