The Lindenwood women's hockey team (2-16-0, 2-4-0 CHA) continues its eight-game homestand this weekend with a two-game set against Minnesota State (9-11-0, 5-11-0 WCHA). The series opener on Friday is scheduled for 7:10 p.m., while puck drop in game two is set for 2:10 p.m., all from Centene Community Ice Center in Maryland Heights, Mo.

The Lions dropped both games of their series against No. 1 Ohio State by scores of 9-1 and 6-0, respectively.
Natalie Ferenc and
Julia Maguire split time between the pipes against the Buckeyes, with both goalies topping the 60 save plateau in each contest.

Maguire tied Ferenc with a CHA season-high 66 saves in game two, which included 20 or more saves in each period. Ferenc stopped 66 shots against No. 5 Wisconsin earlier in the season. Lindenwood netminders have made 658 saves on the year, which ranks third in the country.

Morgan Neitzke picked up another point in the series against Ohio State, giving her 15 (9 G, 6 A) this season. The Jackson, Mich. native has recorded at least one point in 11 games during the 2022-23 season, The sophomore forward ranks inside the top 10 in four offensive categories among CHA foes.

Lindenwood tallied 63 blocked shots against the Buckeyes, led by
Meara Ryan who compiled 13. The Pembroke, Ontario native leads the team with 44 blocks on the year and has had four games with five or more this season.

Last season, Minnesota State won both meetings between the two teams. In the series finale, the Lions trailed 5-1 after 40 minutes before taking a brief 6-5 lead in the final frame, but they ultimately fell 7-6 in overtime.

Lindenwood has defeated Minnesota State four times in the series history, with one of those victories coming on home ice back on January 10, 2015 in what was a 3-1 score.
