The Lindenwood field hockey program will end their season on the road in the state of Massachusetts, taking on Holy Cross on Friday, October 27, at 2:00 PM CT and Stonehill on Sunday, October 29
th at 10:00 AM CT.
The Lions are currently 3-9 on the season, picking up a 3-0 loss on Senior Day in their most recent matchup, against Lock Haven. Leading scorers for the Lions include
Mia Simpson and
Alice van Hemelen. Simpson leads the Lions in points with seven, coming from three goals and one assist. Hemelen is second on the team in points with six, coming from three goals.
Leah Brozovich and
Kyla Cooke have spent time in net for the Lions. Brozovich has made 47 stops in eight appearances, and Cooke has made 36 stops in nine appearances.
The Lions are looking for their fourth win of the year.
The Black and Gold will matchup against Holy Cross for the first time, and Stonehill for the third time. Holy Cross is 7-8 on the year, and 2-4 in the Patriot League. The Crusaders in their most recent matchups, were victorious over Towson by a score of 3-2 and fell to American 2-1. Sarah Potter leads the Crusaders in points with 20, and Maguire Sturgis is second on the Crusaders in points with 12. On the defensive side, Brooke Ross has made 15 starts for the Crusaders, stopping 127 shots on 30 goals against.
The Lions are currently 0-2 against the Skyhawks, falling 4-3 to the Skyhawks in their most recent matchup. The Skyhawks are 4-12 on the year, and 2-4 in the NEC. The Skyhawks fell to Saint Francis (Pa.) and Sacred Heart in their most recent matchups. Before taking on the Lions, the Skyhawks will take on Wagner College on October 27. The Skyhawks leading scorers are Reagan Hickey with 18 points and Claudia Crowe with 11 points. Shannon Conte has made 16 starts in net for the Skyhawks, making 115 stops on 50 goals against.
