Lindenwood's women volleyball heads to the Ohio Valley Conference Championships in Charleston, Ill. as the #3 Lions take on the Golden Eagles of #6 Tennessee Tech. The Lions clinched the third seed last week after taking two matches at Southeast Missouri State.

After losing two matches at home to Southern Indiana, the Lions bounced back with two huge wins at SEMO to clinch at top three seed in the OVC tournament. Lindenwood posted their 11th conference win of the season setting a new Division I record in conference wins and regular season wins (15).

Tennessee Tech had a bye during the last week of the season leaving their seeding fate at the hands of every other school in the conference. Before that, TTU was on a seven match win streak heading into the tournament. During the regular season, the Lions and Golden Eagles split their two matches.

The conference tournament is being hosted by Eastern Illinois University who won the regular season OVC title with a 15-3 conference record. SEMO was selected as the number two seed winning one more OVC match than Lindenwood.

Week Recap
Lindenwood played two matches on Wednesday and Thursday this past week to end the regular season. Needing two wins to clinch the third seed in the Championships, Lindenwood came out with two wins at Southeast Missouri State.

The Lions defeated the Redhawks of Southeast Missouri State in four sets on Wednesday behind 12 kills from Anna Kraemer. The win secured at least the five seed for the Lions in the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament.

Lindenwood dominated early picking up the first two sets in the match before taking the win in four. Kraemer led all Lions with 12 kills in the match marking her fourth time in her last five matches she has gone in the double digits. She also led the team in hitting percentage with a .346 percentage.

Nyah Wilson continued her dominate junior season notching her 15th double-double of the season after picking up 10 kills and 16 digs. She is second on the team in kills this season. Addy McAleerRebecca Janke and Ashley Geluck all had nine kills in the win.

McAleer was the hero on Thursday picking up a double-double with a team-high 17 kills and 11 digs. She was 17 for 49 on attacks and had a hitting percentage of .224. She also had two of Lindenwood's 11 service aces.

Geluck had her second straight strong performance against SEMO with 12 kills on 24 attempts with a .375 hitting percentage. Anna Kraemer also contributed 10 kills and seven digs in the win. Both freshman were key in solidifying the #3 seed for Lindenwood.

OVC Top Ten
Rebecca Janke has been effective all season long at the middle blocker position hitting .287 which ranks eighth in the OVC. Of qualified hitters in that category, she has the fifth most kills with 289 kills and 791 attacks.

Addy McAleer remains in the top ten after a great weekend against her former school in SEMO. She ranks ninth this season in kills per set with an average of 2.90. Her 336 kills is first on the team and ninth in the OVC.

Jessie Seidel claims two spots in the OVC top ten in digs and service aces. Her 557 digs this season (career-high) ranks third in the conference while her 4.80 digs per set ranks fifth in the OVC. Seidel also ranks seventh in aces per set with an average of 0.38. She has 44 aces this season for a team high.

Allie Otten also ranks seventh in the conference in assists with an average of 6.71 per set. She had her best weekend of the season last week racking up 84 assists against SEMO helping the Lions take both matches.

Player To Watch
Nyah Wilson has been the Lions rock during the 2023 season in a lot of categories. On the team, she ranks second in kills with 305 which also set a new career high for the junior out of Advance, Mo. She was just one of four Lions to play all 29 matches this season.

She also collected 15 double-doubles this season which ranked top five nationally. She had 19 matches this season where she posted more than 10 kills. Wilson had 349 digs on the year ranking second on the team behind libero Jessie Seidel. She had a .187 hitting percentage for the Lions in 2023.
