Women's ACHA ice hockey was blanked by the University of Jamestown by a final of 2-0 Sunday afternoon at Wilson Arena in Jamestown, North Dakota.
The Lions battled throughout the game but couldn't get a puck past the Jimmies goaltender. After a scoreless first period, Jamestown scored an even-strength goal at 14:51 of the second. Down by only one, Lindenwood remained in the contest looking for the equalizer, but the Jimmies iced the game with 38-seconds remaining in regulation.
Jamestown outshot the Lions 35-26 and
Emily McDonald stopped 33 of 35 in goal for Lindenwood. The Lions went 0/6 on the power play while holding the Jimmies scoreless on five man-advantage chances.
With the loss, Lindenwood now stands at 5-16-1 overall. The Lions wrap up the regular season with a two-game, home-and-home series against Women's Midwest College Hockey (WMCH) rival McKendree University February 17-18. The opening faceoff Friday is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. at the Rec-Plex Community Center in O'Fallon, Illinois. The puck drops at 6:20 p.m. Saturday evening at the Centene Community Ice Center in Maryland Heights, Missouri.
