ST. CHARLES, MO. - The Lindenwood women's basketball team will be heading to Tennessee Tech to take on the Golden Eagles on Thursday evening starting at 5:30 p.m.
The last time the Lions took the court, they were defeated by the USI Screaming Eagles by a final score of 43-66 in Evansville, Indiana.
Devin Fuhring led the way for Lindenwood in the scoring category with her 12 points, while
Mary McGrath would also reach the double-digit scoring mark with her 10 point performance.
Brooke Woodyard led the Lions on the boards with six total rebounds, while McGrath was close behind with her five rebounds.
Meanwhile, McGrath still leads the way in both the points and rebounds per game columns for Lindenwood, averaging 12.1 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. Fuhring has the next highest points per game average with 10.9, while
Brooke Woodyard is second best on the boards with her 4.4 rebounds per game average.
When the Lions and Golden Eagles went head-to-head earlier this season, TTU ended up winning by a final score of 35-72 on New Year's Eve in Hyland Arena. McGrath dropped 11 points and scooped up eight rebounds against the Golden Eagles, while
Emily Benzschawel knocked down nine points and
Makayla Wallace hit seven.
Lindenwood shot 31% from the floor, 23.5% from the three-point line and 50% from the free throw stripe, while Tech shot 45%, 28.6% and 93.3% respectively. The Golden Eagles were also dominant on the boards, grabbing 43 rebounds as opposed to the Lions' 23 total.
Since the two teams met last on December 31, the Golden Eagles have gone 7-5, most recently losing to Tennessee State 72-81 at their place. Maaliya Owens remains in the lead scoring wise for TTU with her 14.1 points per game average.
