Women’s Lacrosse Drops Matchup Against San Diego State

On Wednesday afternoon, the Lindenwood women's lacrosse team (5-5) traveled to San Diego, Calif., to take on the San Diego State Aztecs. The Lions would drop their matchup against the Aztecs 15-9.

Overview
In the first quarter, scoring was very back and forth. The Lions started the game scoring the first goal, tallied by Isabella Rulapaugh and assisted by Logann Eldredge. The Aztecs would retaliate scoring one of their own. The Lions would bounce back scoring two in a row contributed by Sara Grieco and Eldredge. Both teams would trade off the next two goals with the Lions leading. The Aztecs would come back towards the end of the first quarter scoring three in a row to lead 5-4 going into the second quarter. The Aztecs would control the second quarter, scoring six goals while the Lions only scored once. The lone scorer in the second quarter for the Lions came from Emma Arnold at the 10:38 mark in the second frame. The Aztecs would lead 11-5 going into the second half.

The Aztecs once again would control the scoring in the third quarter, scoring three times while the Lions scored twice. Scorers in the third quarter for the lions included Sam Irwin and Lexy Biller. In the fourth quarter, the Lions would keep the Aztecs to one goal. The Lions would control the scoring in the fourth but was not enough to mount a comeback, with the Lions falling to the Aztecs 15-9.

Eleanor Kast started in cage for the Lions, making 10 saves on 25 shots on net.
