On Sunday, the Lindenwood women's lacrosse team traveled to Riverdale N.Y. to take on the Manhattan College Jaspers. The Lions would cruise to a 20-5 victory over the Jaspers.
Overview
The Lions started off with the first tally of the game coming from
Emma Arnold. The Jaspers would retaliate, scoring one of their own. The Lions would dominate the rest of first frame, scoring seven unanswered goals, coming from
Sara Grieco,
Lexy Biller,
Sam Irwin,
Elisabeth Ralph,
Paige Sutton, and two from
Logann Eldredge. In the second quarter, the Lions would rattle off the first three goals of the frame coming from Arnold,
Isabella Rulapaugh, and
Lindsey Smith. The Jaspers would score two goals in the quarter while the Lions would add two more to end the first half with a lead of 13-3.
In the third quarter, scoring was stifled with the Lions scoring twice and the Jaspers scoring twice. In the fourth quarter, the Lions would control all the scoring, netting five goals to end the final frame.
Eleven players on the Lions squad netted a point. Ralph led the team in points with six (three goals and three assists) and Irwin was the second leading scorer with five points (three goals and two assists). Rulapaugh lead the team in goals with four. Biller led the team in draw controls with seven, and
Alyssa Kneedler led the team in groundballs with four.
Eleanor Kast started in net for the Lions making eight saves on thirteen shots on net, and
Elizabeth Goth would come in to relieve Kast, making two saves on two shots on net.
