SEASON REVIEW
As the track and field season has ended, the track and field program saw some success in their first slate in NCAA Division I. The Lions had individuals break program records, earn player of the week honors, and finish well in competition.
Men's Season Highlights

• Hugo Vázquez earned OVC Male Freshman of the week twice (2/8 and 4/5) for his performances in the 60m hurdles in the indoor season and 110m hurdles in the outdoor season.
• One Lion placed at the OVC Indoor Track and Field Championships (2/23). Jameel Walkes-Miller placed third at the OVC Championships running a 21.66 in the 200 meter.
• Three Lions placed at the OVC Track and Field Outdoor Championships (5/13). Jake Casey placed second in the decathlon, William Stemler placed third in Javelin, and Biel Salas placed first in the 110m hurdles.

Women's Season Highlights

• Two Lions place at the OVC Indoor Track and Field Championships (2/23). Russina placed third in the 400m and Kira van den Ham placed third in pole vault.
• Gabby Russina breaks program record in the 400m at the Music City Challenge (4/29).
• Four lions place at the OVC Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Russina placed second in the 400m breaking her personal record as well as the school record. Ashley Shoemake placed third in the hammer throw, throwing a distance of 53.68m. Kimberly Lugg placed first in discus, throwing a distance of 49.21m. Martina Martínez placed second in the 400m hurdles.
