Men's Volleyball Hosts No. 18 McKendree, Visits Quincy This Week

The Lindenwood men's volleyball team (8-11, 3-7 MIVA) welcomes No. 18 McKendree (13-7, 7-4 MIVA) for a Wednesday night matchup inside Hyland Arena, before traveling to Quincy, Ill. to take on Quincy (5-13, 1-10 MIVA). First serve is set for 2:00 p.m.

FIRST SERVE
  • The Lions will be looking to bounce back after a pair of losses to Purdue Fort Wayne and No. 13 Ball State last week.
  • A bright spot in both matches was A.J. Lewis who compiled 25 kills and hit .455 in both contests.
  • Lewis ranks 35th nationally in hitting percentage at .306.
  • Connor Sheehan continues to lead Division I and the MIVA with 11.05 assists per set.
  • The Lions will be looking to even the season series with McKendree as the Bearcats picked up a 3-0 win on February 28.
  • Lindenwood last picked up a home win over McKendree on April 8 of last season.
  • The black and gold will be looking to complete the series sweep of Quincy after earning a 3-0 win on March 5.
  • Clay Wieter paced the Lions with 10 kills in the win.

2024 OUTLOOK
The Lindenwood men's volleyball team currently has 11 matchups against ranked teams on its 2024 schedule. The squad was picked to finished sixth in the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Preseason Poll earning 41 points. Lindenwood returns key pieces to their lineup for 2024, including A.J. Lewis, RaShawn Bonner, and Ian Schuller, who all garnered all-conference honors a year ago. Lewis was named to the preseason all-MIVA team for the upcoming year. Last season, Lewis led the team with 39 service aces and was second on the team with 249 digs.

Lindenwood will host Purdue Fort Wayne on Friday, March 29, before taking on Ohio State on Saturday, March 30 at home. Both matches are set for 7:00 p.m.
